Harold L. Simmons has been a member of the Eighth Street Baptist Church of Kansas City, Kansas for over fifty years. He has served in many positions at the Church; Laymen President, Secretary of the Deacons Ministry, Chairman of the Deacon Ministry, and many other Servant Leadership positions. He is President Emeritus of the National Baptist Laymen’s Movement. Presently, Harold was appointed National Commissioner of the Criminal Justice Department of the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A., Inc. Harold is a leader of men and is sought after speaker and teacher. Professionally, he is retired from the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department after more than twenty-nine (29) years of service. He has been the recipient of many outstanding achievement awards locally and nationally. Currently, he is a professor at Western Baptist Bible College. Harold has an Associate of Arts Degree from KCKS Community College, Bachelors, and
Masters in Biblical Interpretation from Western Baptist Bible College. He was conferred an “Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters” from Western Baptist Bible College, Kansas City, MO; and from Arkansas Baptist College, Little Rock, AR.
Harold L. Simmons is married to Doris W. Simmons. Between them, they have twin daughters, one nephew-son and five grandchildren.
